Misty Robotics, Spun Out From Sphero, Announces New Robot
Boulder-based Misty Robotics, the venture-backed spinout of robotic toy maker Sphero, said this morning that it has launched a new, crowdfunding campaign for a brand new robot, called the Misty II. According to Misty Robotics, the new, personal robot will be available at a 50 percent discounted price of $1,599 to crowdfunding backers, and will ship on December 4th. According to Misty Robotics, the Misty II is aimed at developers, entrepreneurs, students, and makers looking for an easily programmable robot. The company said the Misty II can recognize faces, create 3D maps of her surroundings, dynamically respond to the environment; can see, hear, and speak; and much more. Misty Robotics is venture backed by Venrock, Foundry Group and others.
