Group Aims To Provide Cybersecurity Scholarships for CO, NM, UT, and WY Veterans
The Daniels Fund, a nonprofit philanthropy group which was created by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, said today that it will offer up cybersecurity training scholarships for U.S. veterans in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming. The Fund, in collaboration with the USO Colorado Springs, said its scholarships will allow veterans to receive cybersecurity training at no cost, from the SANS Institute's VetSuccess Immersion Academy. According to the groups, interested veterans need to take the SANS CyberTalent Aptitude Assessment, a test which assesses knowledge application, comprehension, and problem solving skills, and also will undergo an interview; the deadline for applications is October 10th. Daniels died at the age of 79 in March of 2000, when his $1 billion estate was transferred to The Daniels Fund.
