In one of the biggest, corporate startup accelerator wins for Boulder-based TechStars so far, the startup accelerator program operator is powering a new startup accelerator for Walt Disney Company. According to Disney, it has launched the Disney Accelerator, which will help to launch new startups focused on the consumer media and entertainment industry. Financial details of the deal with TechStars were not disclosed. Disney said it will invest $120,000 in starts, and provide mentoring from its executives in the TechStars-style accelerator effort. TechStars is not a stranger to corporate startup accelerators; the group also runs startup accelerators for Nike, Kaplan, Barclays, Sprint, and others.
