Techstars Loses Disney Accelerator
Boulder-based startup accelerator program Techstars is no longer powering the Disney Accelerator, the startup accelerator effort run by The Walt Disney Company, according to reports this week. Techstars--which was behind the first two classes of the accelerator--told the LA Times that its contract with Disney had expired, but that it was glad Disney would maintain the program. The Disney Accelerator as one of Techstars' highest visibility programs, and is credited by Boulder's Sphero for unprecedented demand for its product, when it debuted a robotic version of the BB-8 robot as a direct result of the program.
