IHS Buys Oil Pricing Data Provider For $650M
Englewood, Colorado-based information provider IHS said this morning that it is acquiring Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), a provider of oil, natural gas, and biofuel pricing information, in a deal worth $650M. OPIS provides U.S. refined petroleum pricing data, news and analytics, and was founded in 1977, and is basd in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It was owned by UCG, and has 281 employees.
