COPAN Systems Ties With Broadcast Archiving Firm
Longmont, Colorado-based COPAN Systems reported today that the firm is in a deal with content archiving and storage management firm Software Generation Limited (SGL). COPAN said that SGL will tie COPAN's storage products with its SGL Flashnet system, which is used by the media and entertainment to archive digital broadcast content. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. COPAN said the move will give broadcasters access to its energy-efficient storage products. COPAN's storage products use energy-optimized, disk-drive systems to store archive and other tiered storage data. COPAN is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Globespan Capital, Pequot Ventures, Credit Suisse and Battery Ventures.
