Boom Supersonic Partners With HPC Provider

Denver-based Boom Supersonic, which is developing a supersonic passenger jet, said it has tapped high performance computing (HPC) vendor Rescale, to help with its design and optimization of its aircraft. Boom Supersonic--which is hoping to bring back supersonic travel to the commercial airline industry--said it is using Rescale's cloud-based HPC platform for computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis for its design of its XB-1 supersonic demonstrator. Boom Supersonic is venture backed by 8VC, RRE, Lightbank, Y Combinator, and Caffeinated Capital, along with angels Sam Altman, Paul Graham, and Greg McAdoo.
