Silvernest Snags $3M For Housemate Matching Service
Denver-based Silvernest, which operates an online housemate matching service which pairs aging populations--including boomers, retirees, and empty nesters--as long term housemates, is announcing this week that it has raised $3M in a Series A funding. The new funding comes from Incenter, a Blackstone Group portfolio company, and will bring the company's total funding up to $4.45M. Silvernest, which is led by CEO Wendi Burkhardt, has been offering up its housemate matching service since late 2015, using software algorithms to match homeowners with housemates for long term home sharing. The service handles the entire chain of house sharing, including identity verification, background checks, lease creation, automated payments, mediation and legal support. According to the company, the new funding will go towards expanding the company's user base, to hire new talent, and also build out its platform.
