Silvernest Looks To Match Baby Boomers, Empty Nesters Looking For Roommates
Boulder-based SilverNest, a startup which is hoping to match up baby boomers and "empty nesters" looking for roommates, launched a new version of its service on Thursday, saying that it has added better matching features, in-site communications, and other features. The startup, led by CEO Wendi Burkhardt, is aimed at helping find housemates for older homeowners, with such tools and background screening, payment processing, and more. The company said that Boomers and retirees are joining the "shared economy" instead of taking part time jobs. The service costs $29.99 for three months for homeowners; it's currently free for housemates, but the company says it intends to start charging $9.99 a month for potential housemates to use the service in January.
