Sphero Buys Specdrums
Boulder-based robotics toy developer Sphero announced this morning that it has acquired fellow Boulder company Specdrums, a developer of music technology. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Specdrums--which was founded in 2016 by Steven Dourmashkin and Matthew Skeels--develops a product which ties together color-changing rings, worn on a user's fingers, which are connected to a smartphone app. Sphero said Specdrums had raised nearly $200,000 in funding, all through a Kickstarter campaign it ran in 2017. Sphero plans to continue to develop Specdrums' products.
