Descartes Labs Raises $30M For Satellite Imaging Analysis
Los Alamos-based Descartes Labs, a developer of software used for satellite imagery analysis which is a spinout of Los Alamos National Laboratory, has raised $30M in a Series B funding. The funding was led by March Capital, and also included Crosslink Capital, Cultivian, and one of its customers, Cargill. Descartes says it has developed a "data refinery" which uses computer vision to help analyze and unlock the value of growing volumes of satellite imagery.
