Utah Technology Council Gets $4M For Engineering Employment Efforts
The Utah Technology Council, an industry group which helps to boost the Utah technology industry, said very late Friday evening that it has secured $4M in funding, from the Utah State Legislature, to fund an effort to boost the supply of computer scientists and engineers in Utah. According to the Council, the funds go towards its Engineering Initiative, which helps recruit faculty, creates more class sections and online classes, and provides academic advising and career counseling to help bolster the number of computer scientists and engineers available locally.
