Spectra Logic Links Storage Gateway To Public Cloud
Boulder, Colorado-based storage products developer Spectra Logic has rolled out a number of enhancements to its BlackPearl storage gateway, which specifically links the company's devices to the public cloud. According to the company, its Spectra BlackPearl--which presents a single interface to tape and disk devices using cloud storage protocols--now supports replication to the public cloud, cross system replication, support for nearline storage, among other enhancements. Spectra Logic is selling the device for archiving of data, and says it is targeting everything from media and entertainment, to genomics and healthcare. The company did not say which public cloud storage services its device now supports.
