Spectra Logic Ties Into NetApp Object Storage System
Boulder-based storage products developer Spectra Logic is tying its products with NetApp's object storage systems, the company said today. Spectra Logic said it has shown a "proof of concept" integration of its BlackPearl Deep Storage Gateway with NetApp' StorageGRID Webscale product, NetApp's object-based storage system for content management. The two said the connection allows NetApp to use Spectra Logic's product as an archive location for files. The companies did not say how long it would take to fully quality the integration and make it available to customers. BlackPearl is a long term, tape storage archive product. NetApps StorageGRID Webscale is a policy-based content archiving product, which automatically migrates data across storage depending on user policies.
