Avnet Awarding $30,000 In College Scholarships
Phoenix-based electronics distributor Avnet says it is awarding $30,000 in college scholarships as part of an annual event, the Avnet Tech Games, which pits students from a number of Arizona schools against each other in problem solving and other skills. Avnet said the competition includes students from Arizona State University, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Grand Canyon University, ITT Technical Institute, Mesa Community College, Northern Arizona University, Scottsdale Community College, South Mountain Community College and The University of Advancing Technology. Avnet says it has awarded more than $330,000 to students and teachers in the past 10 years through the event.
