DigitalGlobe Ties With United Nations
Longmont, Colorado-based satellite imaging provider DigitalGlobe said today that it will supply high resolution, satellite images to the United Nations, as part of the UN's economic, social, and scientific development efforts. Financial impact of the deal were not announced. DigitalGlobe said the MOU with the UN is with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), which "promotes international cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space". Those uses include disaster management and emergency response. It's been a busy week for DigitalGlobe, which just rolled out 30cm imaging to its customers.
