Aereo Service Ruled Illegal By Supreme Court
Controversial television streaming service Aereo, which used a network of antennas to digitize television signals in Utah and Colorado, for streaming later to users, has been ruled illegal by the U.S. Supreme Court. The Supreme Court said that Aereo had violated copyright laws in its capturing of broadcasts, and delivering them to users via the Internet for watching later. Aereo has been suspended in both Utah and Colorado since February, only seven months after launch in the region. The Supreme Court ruling puts into jeopardy Aereo's entire business plan.
