Zayo Group Adds New York, Virginia Route
Boulder-based bandwidth provider Zayo Group said today that it has expanded out its network, with a new, 100G wavelength network stretching between New York and Ashburn, Virginia. According to Zayo Group, the new route connects to an existing route which follows the East Coast's I-95 corridor. Zayo said its new route connects locations in New York; Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; and Ashburn, VA. Zayo did not say how much it spent to complete the link between the cities. Ashburn, Virginia is a major location for data centers in the Washington, DC area, and is considered a suburb of DC.
