DISH Expands Fixed Wireless Broadband Trial
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite TV operator DISH Network said today that it is expanding its efforts to enter into the fixed, wireless broadband service market via its relationship with NTELOS Holdings. The two said they are expanding a pilot program, to co-develop a fixed wireless broadband service. The two are currently deploying that service in Roanoke, Staunton, Waynesboro and Charlottesville, Virginia. DISH is targeting the fifth of U.S. households it says are currently underserved by broadband.
