DISH Network Drops Clearwire Bid
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite television operator DISH Network said Wednesday afternoon that it is dropping its bid for wireless broadband infrastructure firm Clearwire. The move officially puts a close to the competition between DISH and Sprint for Clearwire. Sprint increased its bid for Clearwire to $5 per share this week, pushing DISH out of the bidding.
