MapQuest Turns To TomTom For Map Navigation
Denver-based MapQuest has turned to automobile navigation provider Tomtom to power its updated MapQuest smartphone app, the firm said this morning. MapQuest said that its free iPhone and Android offerings are now powered with TomTom, providing it with coverage of 7.5 million miles of roads in North America. Financial details of the move were not disclosed, and it's unclear why MapQuest has decided to turn to an alternative provider of mapping data for its apps.
