UQM Technologies In Japanese Win
Longmont, Colorado-based electric motor and alternative energy technology provider UQM Technologies said this morning that its systems are powering new, electric city buses at a city in Japan. UQM said that its PowerPhase electric drive system is being used in the Hino electric city-bus, on bus routes in Tokyo. Hino is a manufacturer of trucks, buses, and other vehicles. UQM said Hino's buses are being at the Hamura City and Tokyo Sky Tree tourist locations; the number of vehicles being deployed was not announced, and UQM did not indicate any financial details on the deployment.
