Gnip Expands Into China With Sina Weibo Data
Boulder-based Gnip, the provider of social data information being used by enterprises for social analytics, said Tuesday that it has expanded into China. The firm said it has added social data form Sina Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, to its service. Sina Weibo has around 300 million members, and allows users to share 140 character micro messages with others. Gnip's services are used by brands to better parse through the millions of pieces of data coming from sites such as Sina Weibo, Facebook, and Twitter, to understand brand sentiment and effectiveness of their marketing efforts.
