MapQuest Vibe Debuts On iPhone
Denver-based MapQuest, the online mapping and local information site, said today that its MapQuest "Vibe" iPhone App has debuts on Apple's App store and iTunes. The new, free app provides real time, local rankings of neighborhood attractions and businesses. Vibe is MapQuest's new effort to provide more relevant, granular local information on restaurants, bars, and other businesses to users of the site, and was launched on October 13th. MapQuest added its Vibe neighborhood pages to around 50,000 neighborhoods last month, to highlight what it said are the "best in local." The Vibe service includes a significant number of social enhancements, including ability of users to vote businesses up or down, and add their own reviews and comments.
