Denver-based MapQuest, the online mapping site owned by AOL, said today that it has launched a month long promotion offering up free gas to its users. MapQuest said the promotion--one for ever day in the month of December--is worth as much as $1220 per winner. The effort looks to be a part of a renewed promotion and focus on MapQuest this year by AOL, which has so far included new branding, an iPhone application, route planning, and large slate of other features releases.
