DISH Ships Sling Adapter
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite TV provider DISH Network announced Thursday that it has launched a new offering, which will allow users to watch live and recorded TV on their smartphones, tablets, and laptops. DISH said the new features comes via a new, Sling Adapter, which connects DISH's services to a Sling placeshifting device. The new adapter works in conjunction with DISH's Remote Access application, which allows for control of DISH's set top boxes via mobile devices. DISH said the new device--which will cost $99 for new and current users--allows customers to watch TV on the iPHone and iPod touch, the iPad, Android phones, Blackberry, as well as their PCs.
