Denver-based MapQuest, the online mapping service of AOL, said today that it has launched a new brand identity and new user interface. According to MapQuest, the new branding will "put the journey front and center" and take consumer "beyond just maps and directions". Among changes to the site are integration of Patch's directory of local services and businesses into MapQuest search results; support for logins from OpenID, Yahoo, Google, and Facebook; and a new simplified search box. The firm also said it has created a new logo to "revitalize" its branding, providing a "simple, clean, and modern" logo.
