UQM Technologies Gains Patent
Frederick, Colorado-bsaed UQM Technologies, a developer of high efficiency motors, generators, and controllers for the automotive, aerospace, military, and industrial market, reported today that it has been granted a US Patent. The firm said the patent covers technology used in electric propulsion systems for passenger automobiles. The patent, number 7,598,645, is entitled "Stress distributing permanent magnet rotor geometry for electric machines." According to the USPTO, the patent was granted October 6th, and names Josh Ley, Jon Lutz, and Victor Chieduko as inventors. UQM filed for the patent back in May of 2007, using Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC.
