Liberty Media Set to Acquire Backcountry.com
Liberty Media Corp. has agreed to acquire online outdoors retailer Backcountry.com, the companies revealed Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to regulatory oversight and is expected to close this quarter. In addition to Backcountry.com, the Park City, Utah-based retailer operates several Web properties, including BackcountryOutlet.com, TramDock.com, DogFunk.com, SteepandCheap.com and WhiskeyMilitia.com. Liberty Media, which has investments in many companies ranging from QVC, Starz Entertainment and Time Warner, is headquartered in Englewood, Colo. Backcountry.com was founded in 1996.
