Longmont, Colorado-based DigitalGlobe said today that it has appointed General Howell M. Estes III to the firm's board of directors. The company said that Estes will serve as a strategic guide in the defense and intelligence markets for the company. General Estes retired from the United States Air Force in 1998, and most recently served as commander-in-chief of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (CINCNORAD) and the United States Space Command (CINCSPACE), and commander of the Air Force Space Command (COMAFCPC).
