MX Logic Scores Patent
Denver, Colorado-based MX Logic is reporting that it has been granted a patent for its fuzzy logic based spam algorithm. The firm, which provides email spam filtering tools for small and medium sized businesses, said that it has been granted a U.S. patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent is number 7,051,077, and is entitled "Fuzzy logic voting method and system for classifying e-mail using inputs from multiple spam classifiers" and was granted to Wei Lin and assigned to MX Logic. MX Logic said that the technology patented is what powers its spam detection system. The method described uses a fuzzy logic algorithm that uses voting to determine if email is spam, based on a number of e-mail classification tools.
