USDTV Gets Award, Taps CSG

Salt Lake City, Utah-based U.S. Digital Television has garnered an award for its MPEG-4 AVC transcoder at NAB, and also has tapped Englewood, Colorado-based CSG for its customer support. USDTV said that its MPEG-4 AVC transcoder has been awarded TV Technology's STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient). The firm's transcoder is a dongle attachment for set-top boxes that converts MPEG-4 video to MPEG-2. Separately, USDTV said it will deploy customer care and billing solutions from CSG Systems. CSG is a provider of customer support to the cable television and satellite industry. USDTV provides digital broadcasting services in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Salt Lake, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas markets. USDTV is backed by Fox Television, Heart-Argyle, LIN TV, McGraw Hill Broadcasting, Morgan Murphy, and Telcom DTV.
