Solid Power Finds $20M In Funding For EV Batteries
Louisville, Colorado-based Solid Power, a developer of battery technology, said Monday morning that it has raised $20M in its Series A funding round. The funding came from Hyundai CRADLE, Samsung Venture Investment Corp., Sanoh Industrial Co., Solvay Ventures, and A123 Systems. According to Solid Power, it is developing all solid-state battery technology, which it says has greater run-time per charge and better product reliability and safety, and is aimed at the electric vehicle market. The company says it is looking to displace the use of lithium-ion batteries in the EV market. Solid Power explained the new funding will go to scale up production of its products.
