Freewave Shows Off Deployment At Mount Washington Observatory
No, that's not the ice planet of Hoth, that's Mount Washington, New Hampshire--one of the most brutal climates in the United States--where Boulder-based Freewave says it has had its radio network equipment deployed there for over a decade. According to FreeWave, the non-profit Mount Washington Observatory (MWO) in New Hampshire, which is focused on climate research, is currently using its 900Mhz FGR and FGR2 radios to connect a network of 28 sensors and devices on five different, remote weather stations on Mount Washington. Mount Washington gets hurricane force, 140 mph winds, freezing conditions, and ice, and once clocked a record wind speed of 231 mph.
