Freewave Gets Deployment In Saudi Arabia
Boulder-based FreeWave Technologies reported a win today in Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). According to FreeWave, the win came as part of a strategic partnership with Baud Telecom Company, and is being used for an internet-of-things networking effort at a remote power plant, for secure collection and transport of voice, video, data, and sensor data. Financial impact of the win was not announced. The installation is in a harsh environment; FreeWave said that the remote power plant gets "constant sand blasts" and sees temperatures as high as 145 degrees Fahrenheit. FreeWave provides wireless networking equipment aimed at the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) market.
