Invention Machine in a deal worth $40M, only a few days after closing a $135M deal to acquire GlobalSpec. Invention Machine is a venture backed developer of search software used to help knowledge workers find information. IHS said that Invention Machine's semantic search tools can provide mor relevant results than traditional, tex-based search engines. Invention Machine employs more than 100, and was venture backed by Trident Capital.
