Gnip, the provider of social data information which is run by Jud Valeski, inked a major, exclusive deal Tuesday with online social sharing service
Tumblr. Gnip said that the "full firehose" of public Tumblr posts is available through the service, which includes more than 50 million new posts everyday. Details of the exclusive deal were not announced by the companies. Gnip's service is used by enterprises to run analytics against social data, and to better understand what kinds of discussions are occuring around their brands and products. The announcement yesterday was the second, major deal announced by the company this month; a couple of weeks ago, the firm announced a similar deal with Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo. Gnip's investors include Foundry Group, First Round Capital and SoftTech VC.
