QuickPen International, a developer of software used for modeling heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), mechanical construction and plumbing building projects, has been acquired by California-based Trimble. Trimble, a maker of GPS and other technology for the construction industry, did not disclose financial details of the buy. QuickPen's products are used for computer aided design (CAD) for ductwork and piping, as well as fabrication. The firm will become part of Trimble's Engineering and Construction segment.
