Phoenix, Arizona-based ON Semiconductor said this week that it working with Chinese firm HiSense Electric Company Limited, to establish a joint power laboratory. The new lab will be located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, and will focus on energy-saving solutions for Hisense TV products. The new lab will be located in Hisense's R&D center, and will focus on LCD TVs. ON Semiconductor said it will assign resident field application engineers to the lab. ON Semiconductor already has design centers in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and a manufacturing joint venture in Leshan. ON Semiconductor is a provider of power management semiconductors.
