Pelion Ventures Backs AI Customer Service Startup
Salt Lake City, Utah-based venture investment firm Pelion Ventures has again made an enterprise software investment, this time in a startup developing artificial intelligence for customer service. According to Astound, a developer of AI software which it is applying to improving employee service, and helping to drive automation of customer service efforts, it raised $15.5M in a Series B funding, which was led by March Capital, and also included Vertex Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Moment Ventures, and the Slack Fund. Astound says its AI software streamlines the way employees receive support and service teams resolve issues, enabling agents at large enterprise companies to solve problems faster and more accurately to minimize employee downtime, and connects to such existing software products as ServiceNow, BMC, Jira, Cherwell, Workday and others.
