Pelion Backs OpenStack Provider MetaCloud
Salt Lake City-based venture capital investor Pelion Ventures has backed a provider of hosted, OpenStack-as-a-service software. Metacloud, which helps companies deploy and operate private, OpenStack clouds, said this morning that it has closed a $15M Series B round of funding, which came from Pelion Venture Partners, as well as Silicon Valley Ban, UMC Capital, AME Cloud Ventures, Canaan Partners, and Storm Ventures. Pelion's investment was led by Blake Modersitzki. OpenStack is based in California.
