Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha Finds $3.5M
Boulder-based beverage maker Rowdy Mermaid Kombucha, which makes kombucha-based drinks, said on Monday that it has raised $3.5M in a Series A funding round for the company. The funding was led by KarpReilly, a Greenwich, CT-based private equity investor, and also included Justin Gold (founder of Justin's) and Brendan Synnott (co-founder of Bear Naked and EVOL Foods). KarpReilly is also an investor in such beverage brands as Spindrift, LIFEAID Beverage Co., KeVita, Zola Coconut Water, and ICONIC Protein. The company said it will use the funding to expand into western regions, new products and re-investment into same-store sales.
