Report: Boulder, Provo Among Top Per-Capita Venture Centers
A new ranking released this month finds that several local, high tech centers are among the tops for venture capital activity per 100,000 people. The report, commissioned by The Atlantic, finds that Boulder, Colorado was number three in the nation, with 13.6 deals per 100,000 people in 2012, third in the nation behind metro areas San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara and San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont. Provo-Orem Utah was number 9, at 2.7 venture capital deals per 100,00 people; Fort-Collins-Loveland, Colorado was number 14 at 1.7 deals per 100,000 people; and Salt Lake City was number 15, with 2.4 deals per 100,000 people.
