Report: Uber Manager Warned Of Serious Issues Before Fatal Arizona Crash
A new report, published today, says that serious safety issues with the autonomous driving program run by Uber in Tempe, Arizona were surfaced in an email from an Uber manager to Uber's head of autonomous vehicles and other executives only five days before an Uber vehicle killed a woman in Tempe. The report says the email reported that the software running Uber's autonomous vehicles were "dangerous" and that the human back-up drivers in those vehicles "weren't propertly trained to do their jobs".
