Salt Lake City- and Bellevue, Washington-based Sarcos Robotics, a developer of robotic systems aimed at creating real-life "Iron Man" suits for the military, announced this morning that it has raised $30M in a Series B funding. The funding was co-led by DIG Investment and Alex. Brown & Sons, and also included Caterpillar Ventures, Cottonwood Technology Fund, GE Ventures, Microsoft, and Schlumberger. Sarcos said the new funding will go to expand its team, scale its production and deployment of its Guardian S mobile IoT inspection and surveillance robot, plus prepare for commercial launch of its full body exoskeleton line, the Guardian XO, in late 2019.
