Zayo Sells ILEC
Boulder-based Zayo Group Holdings has sold off a Minnesota incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC), Scott-Rice Telephone Co., which it acquired as part of its acquisition last year of Electric Lightwave/b>. According to Zayo, it sold Scott-Rice to New Ulm Telecom for $42M, as part of an effort to focus on its communications infrastructure business. Scott-Rice was part of Zayo's Allstream business segment, which Zayo is attempting to separate from its core infrastructure holdings.
