Greater Colorado Venture Fund Aims At Rural Investments
The Greater Colorado Venture Fund, a brand new venture capital fund specifically aiming at investments in rural Colorado startups, launched today, hoping to spur growth in Colorado's startup ecosystem in the smaller communities around Colorado. The new fund will be led by Marc Nager, the former CEO of Startup Weekend and UP Global, and will initially be funde dby $9.1M from the State of Colorado's Office of Economic Growth and International Trade (OEDIT). According to Brad Feld, co-founder of Techstars and Foundry Group, Cory Finney will serve as full time Fund Director, and James Finney will be a Venture Partner in the new fund, which has a target size of $15M in total funding. Feld said the fund will be invested in startups across 54 eligible Colorado counties.
