DISH, CBS Resolve Spat Over Fees
Englewood, Colorado-based DISH Network and CBS Corporation reached an agreement over fees late Thanksgiving evening, saying they had reached a multi-year, carriage agreement covering local CBS stations, plus CBS Sports Network, Pop, and Smithsonian Channel. The terms of the new agreement were not announced. The two had come to a standstill in negotiations, which had resulted in the blackout of local CBS stations country-wide during the height of Thanksgiving football games. CBS was blacked out for three days on DISH, which resulted in DISH even shipping out over-the-air (OTA) antennas to some subscribers to enable access to local channels via local broadcasts.
