DigitalGlobe has selected
Space Systems Loral (SSL) to build it next constellation of satellites, the company announced this morning. DigitalGlobe said SSL will build the spacecraft for its WorldView Legion constellation. The first satellite is aimed at launch in 2020, to replace the company's WorldView-1, WorldView-2, and GeoEye-1 satellites. According to DigitalGlobe, the new satellites will feature 30cm resolution and multi-spectral imagery support, and provide updates to areas on earth as frequently as 20 to 30 minutes. Financial details of the deal between DigitalGlobe and Space Systems Loral were not announced.
