Report: Gender Gap In Salt Lake City In Tech Pay Lowest Nationwide
A new report, issued by salary comparison site Comparably, has found that Salt Lake City has the lowest gap between men and women working in technology nationwide. According to the company--which says it surveyed 10,000 technology employees to develop its numbers--found the average tech pay in Salt Lake City for men was $88,200, and the average tech pay for women was $80,000 -- a 10% difference. That gap was significantly less than such markets as Phoenix (36% gap) and Atlanta (72% difference), and compared favorably even to Silicon Valley, which had a 20% gap between pay for men and women. Comparably also compared the gender pay gap by age, ethnicity, level of education, and other factors.
